SDK Daniels’s Blog for February 8-12, 2010
As we begin this week, I want to remind you that Black History Projects are due on February 19, 2010. There are no exceptions for late projects. If the projects are not turned in on February 19th, it will result in a zero for your child’s grade. Remember that there is no school on Friday, Feb. 12 nor on Mon., Feb. 15, 2010. This is a great time to work on projects. Students are to do research on the person and site at least 3 sources.
The homework page is updated. Don’t forget to take a peek.

They will have 2 weeks to complete the project. Please make sure the project is completed as it will count for a test grade. All projects are due Friday, February 19, 2010.

SDK Daniels Blog for Jan. 18-22, 2010
Greetings,
As we continue to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy, let’s remember to have “Days On” by helping out in our communities. Suggestions of things we can to make our communities better include: helping elderly members of the community clean their yards, travel to the doctor, travel to the stores or provide them with a hot meal. This week will be a great time to teach and train our students how to give back. Learning how to give back should happen more than one day a year.
The homework page is up and running; so, don’t forget to check it out. Have a wonderful “hands on” week.

Mrs. Daniels’s Greeting for the Week Of Oct. 26, 2009
Hello Parents and Students,
This week we are concentrating on main idea and details in reading. Please practice at home while you are reading. Science and Social Studies information are good texts to practice this skill with. In math we are beginning to divide 1 digit into 2 digit numbers with and without remainders. Please continue to practice the multiplication facts as this will help you with division. Science unit is dealing with weather. Watching the weather report each evening will assist with learning how to predict weather. Finally, Theree is a Language Arts and Writing project due on Friday, October 30, 2009. this project consist of the students doing research on a science or social studies topic and putting together a presentation on the information gathered. The final project could be a booklet, power point, or poster with a written report. This is a good time to put into practice those note taking and writing skills.
As always parents, feel free to drop in anytime and check on what’s going on with the Mighty Lions of Mrs. Daniels’s Fourth Grade classroom. Don’t forget to visit the homework website.

I am glad you decided to join us this week. This week we are glad to have Mrs. Hicks, our Reading Coach, helping us practice how to summarize. We learned that answering such questions as Who? What? When?Where? How? and Why? will help us to be able to identify the main idea and supporting Details. Please practice this skill with your child at home.
Please visit our homework page to see what is for homework each night this week. Thank you again for visiting our site. Please leave any comments or questions. Talk to you next week.
